International conference “Theory and practice of modern art”
The Conference took place September 11, 2018, organized by the Department of Theory and History of Art. The participants also included researchers from the Department of Cinema and Modern Art of RSUH, as well as representatives from MSU, HSE, MGHPU and Baishev University Aktobe (Kazakhstan) and other institutions.
The three sections were:
· Subject of modern times as object of modern art
· Exhibition spaces
· Research of art objects
Dr. Kolotaev (RSUH) talked about a gradual loss of agency by heroes in popular movies.
Dr. Filippov (MSU) talked about cinema and psychology.
Dr. Stein (RSUH) talked about discourse-oriented research.
Dr, Shvets (RANEPA) talked about mediological imagination of El Lissitzky.
Dr. Alekseev (Kosygin University) talked about performance art in the 21st century.
Dr. Rainer (RSUH) talked about some exhibitions in Moscow museums.
Dr. Pavlova (Stroganov Academy) talked about the 21st century art projects.
Dr. Kalabaeva (HSE) talked about various communication formats in museum studies.
Dr. Danilova (RSUH) talked about exhibitions of modern and classic art.
Dr. Zhagun-Linnik (RSUH) talked about glitch art.
Dr. Espay (Baishev University) talked about design in Kazakhstan.
Dr. Markov (RSUH) talked about the works by Odysseas Elytis.
The participants concluded that research and practice in the field of modern art required interdisciplinary approach and could be carried out at the junction of media research, sociological research and psychology.
