Round Table “North Caucasus: the Foreign Policy Dimension”

The Table was conducted 15 December 2017, organized by the Department of Foreign Regional Studies and Foreign Policy jointly with experts from leading Russian institutions. The list of participants included Dr. Areshev (Institute of Oriental Studies, RAS), Dr. Emelianova (School of International Relations, RSUH), Dr. Lukianov (Department of Political Science, RSUH), Dr. Mamedov (program coordinator, Russian Council for International Affairs). Dr. Silaev (Center for Caucasian Studies and Regional Security, MGIMO), Dr. Suchkov (Department of International Relations, Political Science and World Economy, Pyatigorsk State University), Dr. Tokarev (Institute of International Research, MGIMO), Dr. Omarov (Head of Center for Research of Ethno-Political and Ethno-Cultural Processes, RSUH), Dr. Shlykov (Department of Near and Middle Eastern History, IAAS MSU).

Vice-Rector Pavlenko welcomed the participants to the Table, who discussed issues arising out of two areas:

-          Contribution of the republics of the North Caucasus to the foreign policy of the RF

-          North Caucasus in the context of various states, international organizations and non-state players.
