Dr. Leppin, laureate of the most prestigious German award, delivered a lecture on ancient Roman Christian emperors

   The lecture centered around Emperor Theodor’s penance in 391AD in a Milan’s church as a means for strengthening the empire and for the Emperor’s self-presentation.

   Dr. Hartmut Leppin is a professor of Goethe-Universitat (Frankfurt am Main) and laureate of the Leibniz Prize.

   The lecture was delivered within the framework of the joint project of the DFG Foundation and Russian Foundation for Humanities.
